General Skilled stream consist of 3 streams-
Skilled Independent visa (Subclass 189) – no sponsor required.
Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190) – nominated by state/territory.
Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (Subclass 491) – for regional areas.
This visa is granted to spouses or de facto partners of Australian citizens, Permanent Residents or Permanent Residents of New Zealand Citizens (‘ENZC’).
Initially, 2 year provisional visa is granted. After the initial 2-year period, applicants can apply for permanent residency provided they continue to meet eligibility requirements.
Following the PR, you can enjoy the full benefits and rights of a permanent resident, paving the way for citizenship if desired.
