Check Eligibility:

Before starting the application process, ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria:

• Age: Under 45 years at the time of invitation.

• Occupation: Your occupation must be on the relevant skilled occupation list.

• Skills Assessment: Obtain a positive skills assessment for your nominated occupation.

• English Language: You must have at least competent English.

• Points Test: Score at least 65 points on the points test (though higher scores may increase chances of receiving an invitation).

Expression of Interest (EOI):

Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the SkillSelect online system. In the EOI, you'll provide details about your skills, work experience, education, and other relevant information.

State/Territory Nomination or Family Sponsorship:

• State/Territory Nomination: If you're seeking nomination from an Australian state or territory, you'll need to apply for nomination from that state or territory. Each state/territory has its own criteria and occupation lists.

• Family Sponsorship: If you have an eligible relative living in a designated regional area of Australia, they can sponsor you. The relative must be a permanent resident or citizen of Australia.

Receive an Invitation:

After submitting your EOI, wait for an invitation from the Australian Government. Invitations are based on the points score, occupation, and other factors. Only those with an invitation can proceed to apply for the visa.

Prepare Documentation:

Gather all the necessary documents to support your application. This includes identity documents, skills assessment, English language test results, employment references, and any other relevant documents.

Apply for the Visa:

Once you receive an invitation, you'll have 60 days to submit your visa application online. Ensure that all details are accurate and that you include all required documentation.

Health & Character Checks:

After submitting your application, you and any family members included in the application will need to undergo health examinations and character checks

Visa Decision:

Wait for a decision on your visa application. The processing time can vary based on various factors. If your visa is granted, you'll receive details about the visa, including its validity period and conditions.

Move to Regional Australia:

Once the visa is granted, you must live, work, and study in a designated regional area of Australia for the duration of the visa.

Pathway to Permanent Residency (491 to 191 visa):

After living and working in regional Australia for at least 3 years (and meeting other criteria), you can apply for the Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) Visa (Subclass 191) to obtain permanent residency.
